Construction is well underway for the new Sports & Events Center. The steel beams will help accomplish the desired ceiling height of 45 feet and an overall court space of 94,500 square feet. This includes 72,000 square feet for the 8 basketball/16 volleyball courts located in the main playing area as well as 12,500 square feet for the championship court.
All basketball and volleyball standards will be hung from the ceiling and will be able to be controlled through cell phone or tablet. The main courts will have some 700 court side seats. The championship court will be able to seat some 1300 people. Work should begin shortly on the 700 space parking deck on the site.
